The rap world mourns after Gangsta Boo was found dead

Memphis, Tennessee - Rapper Gangsta Boo from the famous group Three 6 Mafia has died.

It's a sad day in the world of music.

As reported by Memphis' Fox 13, the music artist was found dead on Sunday afternoon around 4 PM local time. However, the cause and exact circumstances of her death are still unknown.

She was only 43 years old.

Gangsta Boo, born Lola Chantrelle Mitchell, was a member of the rap group Three 6 Mafia, and was known for songs such as Where Dem Dollas At and Nasty Trick, among others.

DJ Paul K.O.M., who was also a founding member of Three 6 Mafia, posted a picture of his late collaborator on Instagram. The post has garnered tens of thousands of likes and comments from fans.

Numerous rap greats also expressed their condolences, including stars like Lil Jon, 2 Chainz, Ludacris, and Big Boi.

In the comments, Lil Jon wrote: "MAN WE WAS JUS TOGETHER 3 WEEKS AGO 🥲 REST WELL QUENN."

Gangsta Boo released her first song with Three 6 Mafia, called Cheefa Da Reefa, in 1994 at the age of 14. It was then that she became a member of the group, and remained as such until the early 2000s.

After that, she found success as a solo artist and worked with a handful of mega stars such as Eminem and Lil Jon.

How exactly the rapper died is still unknown, but according to a report by TMZ, drugs may have been involved.

Gangsta Boo had allegedly attended a concert in Memphis with her brother on Saturday night, and he later ended up in the hospital due to an overdose.

The rapper's mother reportedly issued a statement following the news of her passing:

"The Mitchell family would like to thank everyone for their condolences regarding the untimely death of Lola 'Gangsta Boo' Mitchell. The family is asking for your continued prayers and privacy as we process the loss of our loved one."

More details are expected to come to light regarding Gangsta Boo's tragic death.
