New York, New York - Taylor Swift's latest Midnights song title reveal came with a Joe Alwyn twist, leading Swifties to speculate about the track's potential storyline.

The thing about any Swiftie-led speculation is that it's often rooted in something concrete, and the latest theory follows the same pattern.

At midnight on Wednesday, Swift (32) took to TikTok for another installment in her "Midnights Mayhem With Me" segment to reveal another song title from her surprise album Midnights, which is due October 21.

This time, the Gorgeous singer revealed that track six's title is Midnight Rain, and here is where the plot thickens.

Taylor Nation has long believed that their queen and her "London boy" started dating on September 28, 2016. Given that Swift, leaving it up to "fate," unveiled track six to be Midnight Rain on what many believe to be the couple's sixth anniversary, it's highly plausible that the song itself somehow relates to a certain midnight with Alwyn.

But Swifties are nothing if not diligent, using receipts to back up the fan theory that Midnight Rain is about her 31-year-old boo.

Aside from Swift announcing the title for track six on her sixth anniversary with Alwyn, who was also just named to the TIME100 Next list where Ryan Reynolds raved about the actor's dance skills and good heart, Swifties pointed out additional reasons to believe Midnight Rain will center around her love affair with Alwyn.

Swift has written many a song about her rumored-to-be fiancé – something she and Alwyn have successfully avoided commenting on – but the first of them appeared on her sixth studio album, Reputation. One little ditty was called Delicate, which also happened to be track six on Rep.

Twitter user @swiftie1D13 highlighted another fan theory about Swift and Alwyn's relationship timeline and how it plays into the newly revealed song title, tweeting: "Apparently the day they met after midnight at the backside of a dive bar, it rained the whole night."
