Taylor Swift drops chaotic surprise and the internet is buzzing
New York, New York - Taylor Swift's new concept album Midnights already had Swifties in awe when the artist's "very chaotic surprise" of seven bonus tracks, called Midnights (3am Edition), dropped just hours later.
When Swift teased that she had a "very chaotic surprise," fan theories were all over the place.
Most Swifties were sure the artist was making a tour announcement, while others thought she'd be making a documentary about the album itself.
A few thought the artist would be releasing a double album or sister album like she did with Folklore and Evermore.
As it turns out, the Lavender Haze artist did something no one expected. She dropped seven bonus tracks because she's been "loving the feeling of sharing more of our creative process," she tweeted.
"I think of Midnights as a complete concept album, with those 13 songs forming a full picture of the intensities of that mystifying, mad hour. However! There were other songs we wrote on our journey to find that magic 13," Swift said while announcing the bonus tracks.
Midnights lights up the internet
The internet can't get enough of Swift's new releases.
On Instagram, 1.5 million users liked the singer's bonus track announcement just two hours after it was posted and the music dropped.
Tweets about the new songs have already racked up hundreds of thousands of likes.
One early response was simply, "Something about Taylor Swift singing 'I'm a mastermind' then dropping 7 bonus tracks."
There are already countless memes circulating online. Some are celebrating the bonus track move, while others suggest that Swifites have a lot of chaos, music, and emotions to digest.
Swift described Midnights as "a collage of intensity, highs and lows and ebbs and flows." Fans definitely have a lot to appreciate as they delve into the new album and surprise tracks.
