2022 People's Choice Awards: Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and Megan Markle win big
Santa Monica, California - Tuesday evening, the crème de la crème of stardom were in Santa Monica, California, for the 48th People's Choice Awards, where Taylor Swift, Meghan Markle, and Selena Gomes were among the winners.
Swift won three Female Artist of 2022, Best Album for Midnight, and Best Music Video for Anti-Hero.
Marvel stars Elizabeth Olsen and Chris Hemsworth were named Female and Male Movie Star of 2022, respectively, beating the likes of Brad Pitt, Chris Pratt, Tom Cruise, Gal Gadot, and Jennifer Lopez for their titles.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was declared Movie of 2022 and Netflix's Stranger Things took home the award for Show of 2022.
Selena Gomez also scored two wins, for Comedy TV Star and Social Celebrity of 2022.
Meghan Markle wins People's Choice Award for her podcast
Megan Markle's Archetypes beat out the competition to win the Pop Podcast title.
The beloved Lizzo, of course, was honored as the People's Champion for her contributions to music and TV, but also for her commitment to diversity, equality, and positive body image. She also won Song of 2022 for About Damn Time.
And Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds humbly accepted the award as People's Icon.
Both the contenders and winners of the People's Choice Awards, which started in 1975, are chosen exclusively by fans.
