What a better way to make your acting debut than with a reboot of a 1992 classic?

Though Harlow might seem like an unlikely candidate to take over Woody Harrelson's role of Billy Hoyle, the rapper reportedly won over executives during his first-ever movie audition, according to Deadline.

The reboot will be directed by filmmaker Calmatic, with a script written by Kenya Barris and Doug Hall.

Additionally, the flick will have executive producers in NBA star Blake Griffin, former NFL player Ryan Kalil, and Noah Weinstein under Mortal Media.

Still to be cast is someone to play the role of Sidney Deane, originally portrayed by Wesley Snipes, and Hoyle's love interest, played by Rosie Perez in the 1992 film.

In the original, Hoyle and Deane were an unlikely pair of basketball hustlers.

Though they were once at odds, the two learned to work together to con street-ballers who assumed Hoyle couldn't play.

Unknown to those he met on various courts around Los Angeles, Hoyle was a former college basketball star that could, in fact, ball out and dominate with his skills and sky-high jumping abilities.

Not much is known about the reboot at this time, but it'll be interesting to see who filmmakers cast in the two additional starring roles alongside Harlow.

The Louisville, Kentucky native shocked many during his appearance at the NBA All-Star Weekend Celebrity Game.

Here, Harlow balled out and sunk several deep shots well outside the four-point line – one that doesn't exist outside the All-Star Weekend Celebrity Game.

As for his music career, the 23-year-old recently released a new single and video for Nail Tech, which is slated to appear on his forthcoming album.

Do you agree with Harlow's casting in the reboot?
