Suspect charged in Takeoff's fatal Texas shooting
Houston, Texas - A month after the tragic death of rapper Takeoff, a suspect has been arrested.
A 33-year-old named Patrick Xavier Clark has been charged with murder, Texas law enforcement said on Friday.
The man allegedly shot and killed 28-year-old Migos rapper Takeoff – whose real name Kirsnick Khari Ball – on November 1 in Houston.
Additionally, a 22-year-old man was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm in connection with the incident.
According to investigators, the fatal incident occurred after a private party at a bowling alley, and shots were fired during an argument.
Sgt. Michael Burrow on Friday described the rapper as an "uninvolved bystander," saying he was unarmed and not involved in the dispute. "We lost a good man," Police Chief Troy Finner said.
Thousands said goodbye at a large and somewhat controversial memorial service in mid-November, with musicians including Drake, Justin Bieber, Chloe Bailey, and Yolanda Adams also paying tribute.
His family established a foundation to address gun violence through community projects.
