Selma Blair leaves Dancing With the Stars over health scare
Los Angeles, California - Selma Blair performed for the last time on Dancing With the Stars before she exits the show due to health concerns.
Blair revealed back in 2018 that she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a disease that causes the immune system to attack the protective covering of nerves.
The Cruel Intentions star has been an inspiration to viewers of the show, but after doctors warned her of the toll that the competition was taking on her body, she decided to drop out of the show.
"I've been monitored… I had MRIs and the results came back, and it all adds up to, I can't go on with the competition," she revealed to her partner Sasha Farber on Monday night's episode.
"My body is definitely taking a hit," she continued. "It's way too much for the safety of my bones. There's just intensive bone trauma and inflammation among rips and tears. So I could do extensive damage, that of course I do not want."
The 50-year-old actor went on to dance for the last time on the show, garnering a perfect score from the judges and being worshiped by fans across social media.
"This competition is tough for everyone," said judge Len Goodman. "But if the others have climbed hills, you have climbed mountains."
Selma Blair also shared a heartfelt lesson to her son Arthur, saying: "sometimes there's gonna be uncomfortable things for you in life, and you just do it with a smile."
