Selena Gomez reveals new back tattoo in mysterious black and white photo
New York, New York – It looks like Selena Gomez got bitten by the tattoo bug yet again!
On Wednesday, celebrity tattoo artist Keith “Bang Bang” McCurdy posted a photo of Gomez on Bang Bang Tattoo's Instagram, debuting the 29-year-old's new upper back ink.
In the snap, Gomez is facing a graffiti-filled wall and appears to be wearing a long trench coat backwards, revealing the latest addition to her growing tattoo collection.
This isn't the first time the Rare Beauty founder has enlisted the help of McCurdy, either. In 2020, Gomez had "Bang Bang" tattoo the word "rare" on the side of her neck just below her jawline in honor of the single she had just released of the same name.
Though it's near impossible to depict just what her new ink is or what it might mean, that didn't stop inquiring minds from sounding off in the comments.
One Instagram user commented, "Looks like a dream catcher?", while another asked, "Is this for her upcoming project or album? Is this permanent?"
But most people had one simple demand of McCurdy: a better – and closer – photo.
"Tell us more omg. We need a closer look," quipped one user, as another begged, "Post the zoomed in pic bestie!"
While most of Gomez's ink is tastefully hidden, she sometimes gives sneak peeks of them on Insta, like when she unveiled her upper thigh tattoo of praying hands before the American Music Awards in 2019.
In May, Insider reported that the multifaceted entertainer and business owner had 15 tattoos.
Depending on whether dabbled in any secret tattoo sessions since then, it seems the count is now at sweet 16.
