The RiRi love is everywhere ahead of her highly-anticipated halftime performance, and buzz about the 34-year-old singer even made its way into a press conference with Mahomes.

The 27-year-old athlete was fielding questions from the media when former NFL star Brandon Marshall shared some exciting news with him.

"Rihanna came out and said that you are the greatest quarterback ever. Hearing that, how does it make you feel?" Marshall asked.

The two-time MVP quickly broke into a smile as he responded to the surprising question, telling Marshall that it makes him feel "great."

"Whatever Rihanna says is like the gospel, so I'm glad that she went with me for that honor," Mahomes said.

"She didn't," Marshall then clarified as he began to laugh.

Mahomes took the embarrassing prank in stride, though, telling Marshall, "You got me up here smiling and smirking!"

In a lucky turn of events, the prank on the star player actually caught the attention of Rihanna herself, who had a sweet message for Mahomes.

Thankfully for Mahomes, he actually can count Rihanna among his supporters.

Another video shared on Instagram shows Marshall explaining his prank to the Fenty Beauty founder, who couldn't help but laugh at the story.

"That's so mean. He is mean!" Rihanna said, pointing at Marshall.

"I am so sorry you went through that. I still think you're great," she continued, addressing Mahomes.

While the pressure is certainly on the Chiefs QB to lead his team to victory, RiRi also has a lot riding on her performance after her lengthy hiatus from music.

Though she dropped a new song, Lift Me Up, for the soundtrack of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, fans are still desperately awaiting updates on a new album.

The Rihanna Navy is heavily speculating the performance just might coincide with the announcement, or even the release, of a brand-new record.

All will be revealed at Super Bowl LVII, which will kick off at 6:30 PM EST on Sunday.
