Regé-Jean Page teases fans with 007 rumors after shocking Bridgerton exit
London, UK - His exit from Netflix's biggest hit has fueled recent rumors: will Regé-Jean Page be the next James Bond? Among bookmakers, the heartthrob is considered the best bet for the new 007.
But is the breakout star even ready to take on the legendary role? Speaking to The Mirror, the 31-year-old responded to the speculations.
"Ah, the B word," he said.
"I think that if you are British and you do anything of note, that other people take notice of, then people will start talking about that."
Page went on he felt "flattered" to be put in the category of Brits with enough star power to be considered for the role.
However, he added that "having plans in this moment in history is mildly hilarious," so he has given up on making them altogether.
But given that the Bridgerton sex symbol will not be returning to Netflix's most successful show to date, it's fair to assume that all doors are open for him.
After all, the Zimbabwean-British actor would have time for a new lead role - and he has not clearly denied the possibility.
Page as a secret agent hunting down the bad guys on behalf of His Majesty? His fans could get used to that idea.
