Pusha T enlists the help of Ye in music video for Diet Coke
New York, New York – Pusha T's new single and music video for Diet Coke shows off the rapper's growth alongside co-producer Ye West.
The legendary duo made in rap heaven is back.
Though Ye doesn't have any verses on Diet Coke, the fact he co-produced it alongside his longtime collaborator probably warranted enough reason to be silently included in the video.
That is, at least in Ye's mind.
Regardless of Yeezy's mere on-screen existence, Pusha T's new single gives a sneak peek into what fans can expect from his upcoming fourth studio album: fire rhymes and a cadence that rivals the likings of J. Cole.
The song itself delves into the drug-dealing world that "King Push" has notoriously rapped about, but with a fresh perspective and mellow, scrubbed beat that hits right.
"The number on this jersey is the quote price. You ordered Diet Coke, that's a joke, right? Everybody get it off the boat, right? But only I can really have a snow fight," the 44-year-old raps.
Ye's coming in hot with the visual assist
As for the black-and-white video itself, there's not a lot going on. But to be fair, there doesn't really need to be.
Things kick off with Pusha T and Ye chilling on the couch, with Ye sporting his iconic, less-than-fashionable look of knee-high Balenciaga boots with his jeans tucked into them.
Despite not having a single line in the song he co-produced alongside 88-Keys, the DONDA rapper surely makes his presence known.
As Pusha T lays down rhyme after rhyme, Ye is seen bobbing his head and vibing out like any bona fide hype man should.
Diet Coke is the lead single off the Virginia native's forthcoming fourth studio album, rumored to be titled It's Not Dry Yet, according to HipHopDX.
The album is also believed to be entirely produced by Ye and The Neptunes, which consists of Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo.
Though Pusha T's follow-up to his 2018 album, Daytona, doesn't yet have a release date, it's certain to impress fans new and old.
