Patricia Hitchcock, daughter of the legendary Alfred Hitchcock, passes away
Thousand Oaks, California - Patricia Hitchcock, daughter of director Alfred Hitchcock who died in 1980, passed away on Monday.
Hitchcock's youngest daughter, Katie O'Connell-Fiala, told Hollywood Reporter that her mother died at her home in Thousand Oaks in California.
She was 93 years old.
As the only child of the British director and his wife, film editor and screenwriter Alma Reville, Patricia Hitchcock was born in London in 1928.
At the age of 11, she moved to California with her family.
In 1943, Hitchcock began acting as a teenager and soon made her acting debut on Broadway thanks to her dad's help, appearing in Solitaire and Violet.
She then began starring in her father's films as she got a walk-in role in Stage Fright in 1949 and soon displayed Barbara Morton in 1951's Strangers on a Train.
In 1960, she also appeared in Psycho.
The actor got married to Jospeh E. O'Connell in 1952. The couple had three daughters.
