Olivia Rodrigo reunites with rumored ex and it's all love
Los Angeles, California - Olivia Rodrigo doesn't seem to have a drop of bad blood with her rumored ex Joshua Bassett as the two reunited on the red carpet at the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series premiere.
There's nothing like moving on in the name of professionalism.
But that's what you have to do when you work on the same TV show as your alleged ex, and no two did a better job than Rodrigo and Bassett at the HSMTMTS season 3 premiere on Wednesday night.
The pair appeared all smiles as they walked the red carpet, posing for goofy pics with one another, and some with the show's entire cast.
If there's any sourness between these two, they sure know how to bury the hatchet when business calls!
Rodrigo and Bassett play love interests on the Disney+ show that just kicked off its third season.
The two were also rumored to be an item after meeting on the set of HSMTMTS' first season in 2019. That is, until Bassett was spotted getting rather cozy with Sabrina Carpenter in 2020.
But the plot only thickened from there.
Olivia Rodrigo puts heartbreak to good use
All signs pointed to their rumored relationship and its bitter end when Rodrigo dropped her debut single Driver's License in January 2021.
However, that song led to a monumental year in the 19-year-old's blossoming career, putting her on the fast track to creating her debut album Sour, which dropped in May 2021. The album went on to win multiple Grammys back in April of this year.
To think that the album might not have existed if Rodrigo didn't experience the alleged heartbreak from her rumored relationship with Bassett is bizarre, and likely plays into Rodrigo's ability to get over their brief teenage fling.
After all, she wrote some lyrical gems in the midst of the heartache that led to a world tour, some iconic on-stage collaborations with legends like Lily Allen and Avril Lavigne, and several Grammys.
And with that, we say "Good 4 U," Rodrigo. The first episode of HSMTMTS' third season is now streaming on Disney+.
