New York Comic Con: Brendan Fraser drops F-bombs and teases what's next for Doom Patrol
New York, New York - Brendan Fraser joined his costars from the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) series Doom Patrol on day four of New York Comic Con (NYCC) to dish on his character and more!
DC fans, we sure have a lot to talk about!
On Sunday, Fraser and a few of his costars came to NYCC to give more insight on the raunchy HBO Max show.
The 53-year-old actor, whose career revival has been all the buzz lately, also shared why playing the emotionally-complicated Cliff Steele is nothing short of a dream for him – not least of all because of his license to swear like a sailor.
Fraser and his castmates April Bowlby, Michelle Diaz, and Jovian Wade took the main stage at the Javits Center where they showed an exclusive clip of Doom Patrol's season four and even spilled a few spoilers.

Starring in a DC is kind of a big deal. But that doesn't mean the hype is going to Fraser's head.
"Not going to lie I’m just happy to have a job, a day job at that," he joked with the audience.
"It's a good gig, I love the constant, capacious use of F-bombs, and I love the dialogue. I think Cliff has a big rusty heart in him and he gets it wrong, often, but in the end, he gets it right. I think there’s a Cliff Steele in us all."
When it comes to the complicated process of doing the voice work for the complex robot, Fraser expanded: "That's something that we asked about since day one. How will we make it work? I only voice Cliff, Riley Shanahan physically plays him. But it turned out that the writing was done in such a creative that I still felt like I was on set with everyone else, even though I was in the recording booth most of the time."
As for what to expect from Cliff in season four, the Blast From the Past star added, "The beauty of Doom Patrol to me is that they're a group of misfits and they found each other and formed this unconventional family whether they want to admit it or not."
"Cliff didn't have a good start in season one, he was kind of a jerk. His quest, I've always believed, is for Cliff to become a better human than he ever was, even if he is a robot."
It seems like that quest is about to get a big boost.
"In season four we will see him reconcile with his daughter and his grandson," Fraser teased, "so stay tuned we'll see what happens."
As far as what superpower he'd like for himself, the anser is pretty clear: "Would I want the infinite power to spew poignant perfect profanity? F*** yeah!"
