Miley Cyrus to headline special Super Bowl pre-game tailgate
Tampa, Florida - Super Bowl Sunday will start off with a headlining performance by Miley Cyrus at the first-ever TikTok Tailgate, a pregame concert event.
Before The Weeknd hits the stage for the Pepsi Super Bowl LV halftime show, Miley Cyrus will be popping things off to set the tone at the TikTok Tailgate concert. The event is being held for the 7,500 vaccinated health care workers that were invited to the game from Tampa Bay, and the other 31 NFL team cities across the country.
Miley’s entire performance will be shown on CBS’ main broadcast of the game, but the entirety of the tailgate will be streamed live on TikTok. The tailgate will include appearances from the NFL stars, TikTok influencers, and surprise musical performances before Cyrus hits the stage.
This will be one of the first live performances that will take place in front of a crowd, as opposed to in front of a screen covered with several hundred Brady bunch-style squares filled with the faces of different people, and it’s pretty obvious that Miley is ecstatic about the opportunity for more reasons than one.
She’s not just playing in front of a live audience, but one that’s made up of front line workers who have been showing up daily for the betterment and wellbeing of their communities at large.
In Cyrus’ tweet about the event, she wrote “I can’t wait to put on a show for the NFL’s honored guests before the game…. Health care workers from Tampa and around the country!”
Although there will be an additional 14,500 fans in the stadium for the game, the TikTok Tailgate event is strictly for the 7,500 invited health care workers. The pregame event will start at 2:30 PM ET on February 7.
