Madonna claps back hard at critics and trolls after Grammys appearance
Los Angeles, California - Madonna is clapping back at her critics following the reaction to her appearance at the 2023 Grammy Awards on Sunday.
On Tuesday, the 64-year-old star shared a reel from the awards show where she posed with Sam Smith, Kim Petras, Cardi B, and more.
The video came with a lengthy caption defending herself against the negative commentary surrounding her looks.
"Once again I am caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny That permeates the world we live in," she wrote. "A world that refuses to celebrate women past the age of 45 And feels the need to punish her If she continues to be strong willed, hard-working and adventurous."
The Material Girl singer's appearance drew attention online after she introduced Smith and Petras' performance of Unholy, with social media critics mocking her looks and bashing her experiences with plastic surgery.
Madonna doubled down as she continued on in the caption, telling fans, "I have never apologized for any of the creative choices I have made nor the way that I look or dress and I'm not going to start."
She also expressed hope that their actions would continue to open doors for the women of future generations.
The pop icon certainly has a lot to look forward to, with her 2023 world tour, The Celebration Tour, kicking off in July.
