Madonna and son recreate iconic dress during "family fight night"
New York, New York - Like mother, like son! Madonna's son David Banda channeled her iconic style over Memorial Day weekend.
Fashion is clearly embedded in Madonna's children, as her teenage son slayed in an outfit that paid tribute to his famous mama.
On Saturday, the 16-year-old accompanied the pop star to the WBA World Lightweight Championship in New York City.
Banda made a statement in a long red and white-stripe dress that is part of a new collaboration between Adidas and Gucci, launching on June 7.
However, fans of the Like A Virgin singer probably immediately noticed the striking resemblance between Banda's chic apparel and Madonna's iconic dress that she wore in 1993. The '80s icon sported the classic red and white-striped Adidas dress while attending the premiere of Sleepless in Seattle alongside Rosie O'Donnell.
Gucci confirmed via Instagram that Madonna's son's dress is a "past-meets-present moment.""The archival original was part of an official collaboration between the sportswear brand and Laura Whitcomb of Label NYC and re-envisioned by Alessandro Michele within his Exquisite Gucci collection," the brand wrote.
The Like a Prayer singer also posted some pics from her fashionable mother-son outing with Bandas, who she adopted in 2006 when he was 13-months-old.
"Family fight night," Madonna captioned the post with boxing gloves and heart emojis.
