Lizzo faces explosive new lawsuit over sex club and weight shaming claims
Los Angeles, California - Lizzo has been hit with scathing sexual harassment and hostile work environment claims from three of her former dancers.
Things aren't looking good as hell for Lizzo.
The 35-year-old singer is facing an explosive lawsuit from three former tour dancers that was filed on Tuesday with the Los Angeles County Superior Court, according to multiple reports.
Lizzo, her production company, and Lizzo's dance team captain Shirlene Quigley are each named in the suit made by dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez.
The plaintiffs accuse the Good As Hell artist and company of sexual, religious, and racial harassment and weight-shaming, among a slew of other charges.
One particularly graphic allegation says the dancers attended a sex show in Amsterdam's famed Red Light District and were then pressured by Lizzo to touch the performers.
Will the allegations effect Lizzo's career?
The filing reads: "Lizzo began inviting cast members to take turns touching the nude performers, catching dildos launched from the performers' vaginas, and eating bananas protruding from the performers' vaginas."
"Lizzo then turned her attention to Ms. Davis and began pressuring Ms. Davis to touch the breasts of one of the nude women performing at the club."
The dancers further claimed that Quigley forced her religious beliefs on the plaintiffs and repeatedly made them uncomfortable by commenting on their sexual virginity and simulating oral sex on a banana in front of them.
Additionally, the suit purported that the notoriously body-positive Rumors artist "called attention" to a dancer’s weight gain after a performance at South by Southwest, and continued "thinly veiled concerns about [her] weight gain."
In a statement to Billboard, attorney Ron Zambrano, who is representing the three dancers, touched on the "demoralizing" weight gain comments, sharing, "The stunning nature of how Lizzo and her management team treated their performers seems to go against everything Lizzo stands for publicly."
Lizzo has not yet commented on the allegations, and instead posted photos on Tuesday of a new tour costume and a quote about "true love."
Many fans slammed her in the comments section and said they were "disappointed" she did not address the sexual harassment claims.
