Lil Uzi Vert seemingly comes out as non-binary with Instagram update
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Lil Uzi Vert's preferred pronouns are now officially they/them, it's now been confirmed.
On Sunday, the rapper quietly changed the pronouns in their Instagram bio, and fans quickly took notice.
Shortly after, fellow rapper Yeat of Rich Minions tweeted "Yo they" at Uzi, who responded "Yo yeat."
The move appeared to suggest that Vert is now identifying as non-binary.
While they haven't shared anything about the big change, a spokesperson for the rapper confirmed the news to Pitchfork.
Known for their eccentric dress and style, Uzi – whose real name is Symere Bysil Woods – has been a dedicated supporter of LGBTQ+ causes. The 26-year-old star has also adopted gender-fluid clothing over the years.
When asked by Blavity about wearing women's clothing, they responded, "I bought everything in the men's section. There's nothing else to buy, I bought everything, literally."
Lil Uzi Vert has two new singles out – Space Cadet and I Know – which will appear on his upcoming EP Red & White that drops July 22.
