Lil TJay update: What we know about the rapper's condition
Edgewater, New Jersey – The internet has been abuzz with rumors about Lil Tjay's condition. We sifted through the mess so that you don't have to.
The New York rapper suffered multiple gun shot wounds in an attempted robbery last Wednesday. The suspect, Mohamed Konate, was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree attempted murder.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office shared a tweet that day claiming the incident "does not appear to be [a] random act."
They also added that one victim was in good condition, while another – believed to be Tjay – was "upgraded from critical to stable condition."
TMZ reported Thursday that the rapper was in the hospital unconscious: "We're told he's scheduled for a CAT Scan and outside of moving his legs yesterday, he's made no other bodily movements."
No official updates have been revealed since then, which has left fans to speculate heavily while sharing seemingly false information on social media.
Lil Tjay rumors have been spreading like wildfire
An unsubstantiated post shared over the weekend on both Twitter and Instagram claims that Tjay "will be paralyzed for the rest of his life" and that "he also has only a 15% chance to survive the attack."
The claims have spread like wildfire, with the post being shared by other users and blogs. Some fans have even expressed condolences for the rapper.
Still, many remain skeptical, pointing out that no reliable sources have confirmed such claims, and no major news outlet has bothered to report it.
One Twitter user shared a video of what appears to be Tjay in a hospital bed saying "be back soon," but it's unclear when the video was shot or how the user got it.
It's hard to decipher exactly what is true and what isn't. As of right now, there is absolutely no evidence or reason to believe that the rapper is paralyzed or near death.
Hopefully, Lil Tjay is on the road to a speedy recovery and will be able to hit the stage – and put these rumors to rest – soon.
