Leave it to Lil Nas X (22) to give things his own visionary direction when it comes to just about anything, including his latest announcement regarding the due date of his "bundle of joy."

No, the music artist is not expecting an actual child, but rather the delivery of his "baby" – in reference to his debut album – which is due for "delivery" on September 17.

The controversial artist told People that the idea for his announcement photoshoot, which he shared on Instagram, came after he heard Megan Thee Stallion's verse on his latest single Dolla Sign Slime.

"I was like, 'Oh my God, this is amazing,' so I immediately called my stylist," he said. "I was like, 'Yeah, this is my baby, huh?' As a joke, she was like, 'Yeah, you should do a pregnancy shoot.'"

The over-the-top photos feature the flower crown-clad star with an imposed pregnant stomach, complete with a photo of a sonogram.

While the idea for the shoot manifested itself on a whim, Lil Nas X has been working on his debut album for the better part of Covid-19 lockdowns.

In a tweet from August 25, the artist said creating his debut album was not only a therapeutic experience, but one that allowed him to do some soul-searching as well.

"I've realized the only opinion of me that really matters is my own," he wrote.

The Old Town Road singer's debut album reportedly includes features from not only Megan Thee Stallion, but also Elton John, Miley Cyrus, and Doja Cat.
