Lil Nas X returns to his teenage days with new Taco Bell partnership
Irvine, California – Lil Nas X is taking things full circle with his latest partnership with Taco Bell to promote the artist's forthcoming album, Montero.
Working with Taco Bell might look and feel a bit for Lil Nas X this time around. The 22-year-old rapper, who worked at Taco Bell when he was 17, was appointed as its chief impact officer on Monday.
According to a press release, the newly-created honorary role will allow the Grammy-winner to collaborate on the "brand experience from the inside out".
The Old Town Road artist was blown away by his full-circle evolution, tweeting, "Life has come full circle, i officially work at Taco Bell again."
Within his first 60 days as chief impact officer, Lil Nas X will work with Taco Bell to create an "exclusive experience" around the release of his upcoming album, Montero – which doesn't yet have a release date – and the customization and launch of new menu "innovations".

The fast food restaurant also plans on leaning on Lil Nas X's experience as an employee at one of its chain locations back in 2017 to help reshape the Taco Bell experience into an impactful one.
In the release, Taco Bell's CEO, Mark King, said, "This unique partnership will deliver on more than just marketing, allowing us to tap into the genius of Lil Nas X to inspire our team members and align with our commitment to unlocking opportunities for young people."
The new founded partnership kicked off Monday as Lil Nas X, Montero Lamar Hill, made a cameo in Taco Bell's latest breakfast campaign to announce the fast food chain's plan to bring back its breakfast items to roughly 90% of Taco Bell locations nationwide by mid-September.
Taco Bell said they plan to launch other campaigns with engagement help from Lil Nas X later this fall.
