Fischer wrote an emotional Instagram post on Monday morning that detailed the fateful night walking the pop star's three dogs in Los Angeles.

"Four days ago, while a car sped away and blood poured from my gun shot wound, an angel trotted over and laid next to me. My panicked screams calmed as I looked at her, even though it registered that the blood pooling around her tiny body was my own," Fischer said.

The professional dog walker described how Gaga's third bulldog Miss Asia was a comfort to him after being shot by the gunmen. Her other two dogs were taken in the robbery.

After being in critical condition in the ICU, he is on the road to recovery and said that he has received an outpouring of healing support from around the world.

He thanked his family for rushing to be by his side and police for helping to bring the dogs back home safely.

Fischer also expressed how much love he felt from Lady Gaga herself throughout the horrifying experience and how grateful he was to have saved her pups.

"Your babies are back," he said.

A West Hollywood nightmare

Fischer was shot just before 10 PM on Wednesday night while taking Lady Gaga's three dogs Gustav, Koji, and Miss Asia for a walk in West Hollywood.

The crime was captured on video and after a struggle between the men, two of the dogs were stolen and missing for days. Gaga offered a $500,000 reward for their return.

It is unclear whether Fischer was deliberately targeted and if the robbers knew who the dogs belonged to.

The dogs have since been recovered by a woman who is not believed by police to be associated with the gunmen.

Gaga said that Ryan Fischer risked his life for her family and was "forever a hero."
