Kylie Jenner opts out of the Met Gala after missing the VMAs
New York, New York – Kylie Jenner will sadly not be turning heads at the Met Gala this year.
In a move that shocked many fans, Kylie Jenner announced on Instagram that she will regrettably be missing out on this year's Met Gala, taking place on Monday night.
"I’m so sad I couldn’t make it this year," Jenner wrote on her Instagram Story on Monday afternoon, after posting numerous photos of her Met Gala fashions of the past.
Even though she'll be missing out on the festivities, the 24-year-old indicated she will be tuning in, writing, "I can’t want to see all the looks."
The Kylie Cosmetics founder spent the better part of last week attending various New York Fashion Week (NYFW) events in the Big Apple, but was notably missing at the VMAs on Sunday night, where her boyfriend Travis Scott took home the Moon Man for Best Hip-Hop Video.
According to Page Six, Jenner was planning to attend the star-studded events, but ultimately decided to opt out due to her pregnancy.
Prepping for the Met Gala is no simple feat, and it's possible that the overwhelming nature of the event contributed to Jenner's decision to sit this year out.
The youngest Kardashian-Jenner confirmed she is expecting her second child with Scott in an emotional video posted on Wednesday.
Though Jenner kept her first pregnancy entirely under wraps, she's been doing the exact opposite since making her pregnancy announcement, showing off her baby bump in style at numerous NYFW events and red carpets last week.
