Kim Kardashian says she doesn't "give a f**k" what anyone thinks about her
Calabasas, California - In a recent interview, Kim Kardashian gets real about the criticism and backlash she and her family have received over the years.
The Kardashians are no strangers to scandals and controversies.
But according to the SKIMs owner, the famous family has no problem poking fun at their own misfortunes.
During her Q&A with playwright Jeremy O. Harris for I-D Magazine, the reality star admitted that she and the Kardashian clan are aware of the public's misconceptions of them.
"I think people might not get that we’re absolutely in on the joke. We always have been," the 41-year-old dished.
She continued, "It is what it is. I especially couldn’t really give a f**k what anyone ever says and thinks. And so, I was just like, 'Listen, if I’m going to do this, I want you guys to know we’re in on this. This is what we talk about when we’re at home.'"
The KKW beauty owner further confirmed this when she revealed that she used her iconic Saturday Night Live debut as a way to show fans that neither she nor her family is "sensitive" when it comes to roasting one another.
Kim's says she's no longer ignorant
But one topic she did shy away from poking fun at was Khloé Kardashian's ongoing drama with Tristan Thompson.
Granted, Kim's SNL gig was months before it was revealed that the NBA star is allegedly expecting his third child – not with Khloé.
Still, the beauty mogul shared that she scrapped a joke that she could've used during her opening monologue.
Yet, Kim did address the criticism regarding her cultural appropriation and Blackfishing.
The fashion icon has been slammed for sporting African-American hairstyles, tanning her skin, and also for originally naming her SKIMS brand Kimono before quickly changing it.
She reiterated that she never once tried to "appropriate any culture" and mentioned the time she wore braids in her hair.
Kim revealed she wore the braids because her daughter, North, wanted to wear matching hairstyles.
She added, "But I’ve learned and grown over the years, and figured out good ways to communicate with all my kids about all this. I’ve definitely learned over time, and I’ve tried to pass that culture of learning onto my kids too, but then there’s also a history of braiding hair in Armenia, and people forget that I am Armenian as well."
Kim shares four children with her estranged husband, Kanye "Ye" West.
