Kim Kardashian breaks the internet with second Marilyn Monroe dress
New York, New York – There is no stopping Kim Kardashian from living out her wildest Marilyn Monroe dreams.
If you thought the internet lost its collective mind when Kim rocked Marilyn's iconic "Happy Birthday" dress on the Met Gala's red carpet earlier this week, just wait – there's more.
On Friday, the SKIMS co-founder dropped another fashion bomb on Instagram.
Apparently, the dress she crash-dieted to fit into wasn't the only dress of Marilyn's that adorned Kimmy Cakes' body that night.
"To top off my night after the Met, I had the honor of changing into Marilyn Monroe's Norman Norell dress that she wore to the Golden Globes in 1962 – where she received the Henrietta Award For World Film Favorite," the 41-year-old wrote in the caption.
Apparently, being Kim K comes with a plethora of perks, and having the ability to wear iconic dresses that many fashion conservators and historians feel should never grace anyone's body for the rest of time is one of them.
But for Kim, who seems to understand the gravity of wearing such iconic, one-of-a-kind gowns, the decision to wear both seemingly came down to one thing: fate.
"I saw this all as a sign," she said, further explaining that "all of the stars aligned."
"It will forever be one of the greatest privileges of my life to be able to channel my inner Marilyn in this way, on such a special night."
We get it – it's not just fashion, it's history. But to that, we ask: Can anyone deny that Kim totally slayed in both dresses? We'll wait.
