Kid Cudi shows off his puppy love with some sentimental tattoos
Los Angeles, California – Kid Cudi has invested in some new ink to commemorate his late dog, Freshie.
Rapper Kid Cudi is honoring the death of his beloved dog Freshie with new tattoos in his loving memory.
On Wednesday, the notorious tattoo artist Dr. Woo posted Instagram photos of a recent session with Cudi, captioned, "Freshie 4 ever."
There, he tattooed not one, but three portraits of the dog onto Cudi's relatively bare body.
Two nearly identical portraits of Freshie were immortalized on the front of both of the rapper's thighs, and an entirely different homage was tattooed on his left hand.
In an emotional and lengthy Instagram post last month, Cudi announced the tragic passing of his treasured pup, writing, "I was there while he slipped away. I told him he was a special boy, my best friend, that he was perfect and that I loved him and Ill [sic] miss him so so much. I felt his heart stop beating and felt his last breath."
The 37-year-old music artist, who most recently appeared on Kanye West's new album DONDA, got the pet in 2010. Admitting he wasn't necessarily a dog person, Cudi went on to say how Freshie changed that, and became his closest friend.
"He's been here for 11 years, and my life has been one hell of a rollercoaster this whole time. Freshie was with me through it all everyday. He loved me. He really did."
Moving on from the loss of a beloved pet is never easy, but there's no better way to keep their memory alive than by getting their face tatted on your body.
