Keanu Reeves freaks out over streaming the new Matrix
Los Angeles, California - Like fans around the world, leading man Keanu Reeves is buzzing about the release of the fourth Matrix movie. But there is one thing that is getting the actor's blood boiling.
The time has finally come.
On Wednesday, the fourth part of the Matrix series, The Matrix Resurrections, was released in movie theaters and on HBO Max.
In a new interview published over the weekend by the Guardian, the film franchise's star Keanu Reeves said that amid the hype, one thing is truly getting under his skin.
Journalist Tom Lamont told the star that he watched the first Matrix movie in 1999 in a packed theater, but that he would probably take in the newest installment via streaming on a laptop.
The revelation seemed to send the Matrix star over the edge.
"Dude? Don’t stream that movie," Reeves said. "Don’t you f***ing stream that movie."
"What are you, crazy?" he asked. "You’re going to stream the new Matrix on a laptop?"
It's clear that the 57-year-old feels strongly that the action-packed thriller should be taken in on the big screen.
"My God, man!" said Reeves
"My God, man!" the actor continued in his rant over taking in the film on such a small device.
He even took things a step further and offered to book the writer a movie theater to view the film in.
Eventually, Reeves backed down – perhaps half dejected, half joking.
"I mean, sure, stream it if you have to," he admitted, surely a sign of the times of taking in movies at home.
Thus, it seems that if you want to avoid Neo's wrath – or disappointment – it may be wise to take in the film in a theater and enjoy the special effects in giant-sized fun.
Only if done safely, of course.
The Matrix Resurrections is now available in theaters and streaming on HBO Max – but perhaps try to watch it on a television at home for a greater viewing experience.
