Kanye West nabs Melinda Gates' lawyer as Kim Kardashian divorce trial looms
Los Angeles, California - Perhaps the sixth time will be charm as Kanye West has hired yet another new attorney ahead of his divorce trial with Kim Kardashian.
The 45-year-old hip hop star has decided on his latest legal counsel as he prepares to head to court with his ex.
On Wednesday, TMZ confirmed that Ye has snagged Robert Stephan Cohen, who recently represented Melinda Gates amid her multi-billion dollar divorce case with Bill Gates. The counsel has also had other famous clients, such as media mogul Rupert Murdoch and Chris Rock.
Additionally, Ye also hired California-based attorney Nicholas A. Salick, since his legal bout with Kim is being held in the Golden State.
With a seasoned legal team now repping Kanye, the already messy battle between the former spouses could get even more ugly.
The former couple have publicly feuded, with Ye doing most of the antagonizing, since their 2021 split. He's taken every opportunity to drag, criticize, then oddly attempt to reunite with his estranged wife amid their breakup.
Most recently, he offered a seemingly sincere apology to the mother of his four children.
But given the Hurricane rapper's track record, let's see how long it takes before the cycle starts all over again.
