The rapper hasn't made a public announcement, so it is unclear why he has dropped out, but a source told Variety that "he had not rehearsed or prepared for the appearance."

The news comes shortly after West was reported to be "going away to get help," saying he wouldn't be "making any public appearances or inflammatory social media statements."

Ye was banned from performing at the recent Grammy Awards for what they described as "concerning online behavior."

He has consistently been in the news for his online feuds with ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her new beau Pete Davidson.

He also came under fire for attacking comedian and Grammys host Trevor Noah on social media with a racial slur, which got him banned from Instagram.

According to TMZ, it was rumored that rapper Travis Scott would make a guest appearance on stage with West. Scott had been removed from the Coachella lineup after the Astroworld incident at his November concert that resulted in 10 casualties.

A petition to ban Kanye from performing at Coachella was started in late March, and is a few hundred signatures away from reaching its goal of 50,000.

Ye has been notably quiet since the incident with Noah. Hopefully, he is taking time off and getting the help he needs.
