Antisemitic messages spotted around Jacksonville in the wake of Kanye West's outburst

Jacksonville, Florida - Over the weekend, multiple antisemitic messages were seen in various public spaces around the city of Jacksonville, with some clearly being influenced by Kanye West's recent remarks.

Over the weekend, the message "Kanye is right about the Jews!!!" was seen projected on the exterior of the TIAA Bank Field stadium in Jacksonville.

On Friday, drivers on Interstate 10 passed by banners hanging from an overpass reading "End Jewish Supremacy in America" and "Honk if you know it’s the Jews."

On Saturday, a local news anchor shared a video to Twitter of the words "Kanye is right about the Jews" being projected on the exterior of TIAA Bank Field stadium during the college football game between Florida and Georgia.

The same message, which is inspired by rapper Kanye West's relentless spewing of antisemitic bile, was also reportedly spotted on another building in the city that night.

It's unclear how the projection was done and how long the messages were left up for.

Politicians and local officials have spoken out, condemning the behavior.

"Jacksonville is a city made better because of its diversity," tweeted the city's mayor Lenny Curry. "Those who spread messages of hate, racism and antisemitism will not be able to change the heart of this city or her people. I condemn these cowards and their cowardly messages."

Representative John Rutherford also tweeted, "There is absolutely no room for this sort of hate in Florida. I continue to stand in support of the Jewish community in Jacksonville and across the nation."

The Southeastern Conference, as well as the University of Florida and the University of Georgia, also slammed the messages displayed during their match.
