Allow him to reintroduce himself: on Tuesday, TMZ revealed that Kanye has filed legal documents in Los Angeles to give himself a new title.

According to the outlet, the rapper, who's full name is Kanye Omari West, wants to simply be known as "Ye."

Should a judge decide to grant his wish, this will be the rapper's new identity.

But, what brought on this rash decision?

There hasn't been more details on why Kanye wants his new moniker to be only two letters. Also, the fact that he wants to drop his last name is definitely a head scratcher, since his children, and his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, all have "West" as their surname.

However, fans probably remember back in 2018 when the Jesus Walks artist shared on Twitter than he was changing his name.

"the being formally known as Kanye West I am YE," the 44-year-old tweeted at the time.

This isn't the only eccentric move Kanye's made recently.

In preparation for his next DONDA listening event, Yeezy is reconstructing his childhood home in the middle of Chicago's Soldier Field stadium. At his last listening party for the unreleased project, the rapper "ascended to heaven" and also claimed Kimmy Cakes was still in love with him.

Kanye also briefly moved into the Mercedes-Benz stadium in Atlanta while completing Donda.

And, there's also the fact that fans are unconvinced that he'll release his 10th album anytime soon because of the multiple delays.

In short, what in the world is Kanye up to?
