Jeremy Renner in critical condition after "traumatic injury" from snow plow
Reno, Nevada - Actor Jeremy Renner is reportedly in critical condition following a weather-related accident that occurred over the weekend.
According to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, officers were called to the star's home in Reno, Nevada, early Sunday morning regarding a "traumatic injury."
"Upon arrival, Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital," the office stated. "Mr. Renner was the only involved party in the incident."
Specific details about the accident and his injuries have yet to be officially revealed.
"We can confirm Jeremy is in critical, but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while plowing snow earlier today," a representative for the actor told The Hollywood Reporter. "His family is with him, and he is receiving excellent care."
A neighbor told TMZ the actor's Snowcat plow "accidentally ran over one of Jeremy's legs, and he was losing a lot of blood from the injury."
Another neighbor, who is a doctor, was apparently "able to put a tourniquet on his leg until paramedics arrived," who then airlifted him by helicopter.
The 51-year-old has posted videos on social media of himself using the snow plow before, and was apparently clearing the road on Sunday morning so his family could get out after a large New Year's Eve snowstorm.
Renner is a high-profile actor, known for his role as the Marvel hero Hawkeye since the character made its debut in the 2011 Thor film.
His latest starring role is in the Paramount+ series Mayor of Kingstown, which is scheduled to premier its second season this month.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office says their Major Accident Investigation Team is currently looking into the incident.
