James Corden trades barbs with NYC restaurant owner who banned him

New York, New York - James Corden's lowkey feud with the NYC restaurant who banned just got kicked up a notch!

James Corden, host of The Late Late Show, claims he didn't do "anything wrong, on any level" when asked about recently being banned from an NYC restaurant.

In an interview with The New York Times, the host of The Late Late Show insisted that he didn't do anything to deserve the ban and finds the backlash coming his way ridiculous.

"I was there. I get it. I feel so Zen about the whole thing. Because I think it's so silly," he explained. "I just think it's beneath all of us. It's beneath you. It's certainly beneath your publication."

On Monday, Keith McNally, owner of the SoHo eatery Balthazar, posted a rant on Instagram where he deemed Corden as the "most abusive customer" in its 25-year history.

He listed two examples of Corden mistreating workers at the restaurant, one of which involved Corden "yelling like crazy" at a server after getting upset with how an omelette in his order was prepared.

"Happens every day," the British comedian shot back in the interview. "It’s happening in 55,000 restaurants as we speak. It’s always about eggs."

McNally rescinded his ban hours later, saying that Corden called him and "apologized profusely."

Given that Corden no longer seemed all that apologetic in the NY Times article, the owner of Balthazar responded with an Instagram post on Friday, telling the star that he should "at least admit he did wrong."

"I wish James Corden would live up to his Almighty initials and come clean," the owner cleverly stated.

He continued by saying, "If he goes one step further and apologizes to the 2 servers he insulted, I'll let him eat for free at Balthazar for the next 10 years."

James Corden returns to host The Late Late Show on Monday night, where he may address the restaurant scandal for the last time.
