James Corden kicks off Weight Watchers journey with huge giveaway!
Los Angeles, California - Move over, Kate Hudson! There’s a new Weight Watchers (WW) ambassador in town, and his name is James Corden.
Unlike past years, Corden will be taking the "new year, new me" slogan much more seriously in 2021.
In a self-shot video for the Weight Watchers website, Corden said that over the past decade, he had the intention of losing weight and getting healthy at the start of every new year, but was never able to stick it out or see any actual change.
This time around, Corden isn't just proclaiming his wishes to lead a healthier lifestyle to his friends and family without putting in the work. He’s now partnered with WW to set out on a journey to mend his relationship with food and reframe the way he thinks about health and wellness.
For him, it had always been about losing weight by going on a diet, and WW let him know that this was probably the reason he wasn’t able to stick with any plan.
The organization promised him that "if you stick with our regime, which is more about wellness and health and feeling better rather than just trying to lose a load of weight, this can absolutely work."
Instead of signing onto the program with the intention to just better, himself, Corden also announced that WW would be giving out 100,000 memberships to people who feel the same way he does and want to take that first step but aren’t financially able to.
"So much of this is about support, and if you sign up with me, I’ll support you through this, and you can support me."
James Corden can take plenty of inspiration from his Cats (2019) co-star, Rebel Wilson, who lost over 60 pounds in her amazing "Year of Health."
