25-year-old Paul and former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva are set to face off in a boxing match on October 29 at the Gila River Arena in Phoenix, Paul's camp Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) announced on Tuesday.

The bout will contest at 187 pounds over eight three-minute rounds.

Silva, almost twice the age of Paul at 47-years-old, is one of the greatest champions in UFC history who holds the record for most consecutive victories ever in the promotion at 16.

For Paul, this will the aspiring boxer's fourth fight against a former UFC fighter.

Previously, he defeated Ben Askren by knockout and went 2-0 against former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.

Paul was set to face off with Rahman Jr. in a pay-per-view fight on August 6, but MVP called it off citing issues with the UFC legend's weight. According to Paul's camp, they agreed to contest at 200 pounds, but Rahman Jr. weighed in at 215 pounds.

Though well past his prime, Silva holds a better resume than both Woodley and Askren in MMA and boxing as one of the best MMA and knock-out fighters in the world during his lengthy title reign from 2006 to 2013.
