Jack Harlow defends Lil Nas X's honor at BET Awards
Los Angeles, California – Jack Harlow made sure Lil Nas X's presence was felt on the red carpet at the BET Awards.
There are a few things we love more than music artists supporting music artists.
At the BET Awards' red carpet, Harlow decided to take a stand for his friend and Industry Baby collaborator who was snubbed out of a single nomination.
Though the Kentucky native wasn't as vocal as Lil Nas X has been about his lack of acknowledgement, he still made a powerful fashion statement in his friend's defense.
Rather than dressing to the nines for the red carpet, the 24-year-old opted to pair Givenchy shoes and pants with a Lil Nas X T-shirt in protest of BET's major snub.
The First Class rapper was nominated for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist while BET failed to nominate Lil Nas X for a single award. Though the network claimed it had no beef with the 23-year-old, Nas X has publicly begged to differ, citing "the bigger problem of homophobia in the Black community."
The Grammy-winning artist even released a diss track about his BET Awards snub titled Late To Da Party where he chants "f**k BET."
In the song's music video, Lil Nas X urinated on a BET Award to further voice his distaste towards the network.
Though BET is probably hoping the backlash for not nominating Lil Nas X will soon die out, that doesn't seem to be the case.
