"It's time to put it to rest": Kanye West offers to squash beef with Drake
Houston, Texas - Kanye "Ye" West has extended an olive branch to Drake amid their ongoing feud.
After years of trading blows, it looks like the 44-year-old is ready to make amends with the Canadian rapper.
On Monday, in a video shared by music exec J Prince on Twitter, Ye made the first move.
"I'm making this video to address the ongoing back-and-forth between myself and Drake. Both me and Drake have taken shots at each other, and it's time to put it to rest," the All Falls Down rapper began.
"I'm asking Drake on December 7 to join me on stage as a special guest to share the two biggest albums of the year live in Los Angeles, with the ultimate purpose being to free Larry Hoover," he continued, referencing the co-founder of Chicago’s Gangster Disciples gang.
Hoover is serving multiple life sentences behind bars for murder, drug conspiracy, and criminal activity. Kanye has previously tried to help get him get released from prison, and his son appears on tracks of Kanye's DONDA.
According to J Prince, the incarcerated gang leader has expressed his desire to see the two rap stars make peace.
Drake and Ye's beef dates back a few years.
The two worked together on the music video of Drake's classic, "Best I Ever Had" in 2009.
However, they went from collaborators to enemies after rumors spread that Drake hooked up with Ye's estranged wife, Kim Kardashian.
It was also implied that Yeezy was involved in rapper Pusha T's 2018 diss track, where he outed Drake for hiding the birth of his son Adonis.
In Drake's most recent album, Certified Lover Boy, the rapper seemed to allude to his feud with Ye in the song, 7AM on Bridle Path.
Now, it seems that Kanye is willing to put their issues behind them.
"I believe this even will not only bring awareness to our cause but prove to people everywhere how much more we can accomplish when we lay our pride to the side and come together," Yeezy concluded in the clip.
The Jesus Walks artist's candid conversation follows the AstroWorld concert tragedy on Friday - where Drake made a surprise guest appearance and is now involved in the firestorm aftermath.
Drake breaks his silence on AstroWorld incident
Drake finally broke his silence on Monday night over the horrific incident, where eight people lost their lives and hundreds were injured.
In an emotional statement on Instagram, Drake shared that his heart is broken over the event.
"I've spent the past few days trying to wrap my mind around this devastating tragedy," he began in his statement. "I hate resorting to this platform to express an emotion as delicate as grief but this is where I find myself."
The hip-hop star, along with Travis Scott, has been named in the multiple lawsuits filed by concertgoers who claim to have been severely injured following the deadly crowd surge.
Drake addressed the victims in the new post: "I will continue to pray for all of them, and will be of service in any way I can. My God be with you all."
Perhaps a response to Kanye West will be next.
