"I'll never let go": Leonardo DiCaprio jumps into frozen lake to save his pups
Los Angeles, California - Leonardo DiCaprio (47) is known to be a huge animal lover, but this canine escapade really turned heads in Hollywood.
It was reminiscent of his famed "I'll never let go, Jack" scene from Titanic, which also found him in icy waters.
While filming his Netflix comedy Don't Look Up, Leo jumped into a frozen lake to save his pups.
His co-stars Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, and Tyler Perry recalled the incident with Leo's two rescue huskies at a discussion with Entertainment Weekly.
The dogs were known among the crew to be rambunctious and hyper.
"They are like The Joker. They thrive in chaos," Jonah joked.
But the four-legged friends managed to find themselves in trouble when the crew was near an ice-covered lake.
"One of the dogs fell in," Jennifer said. "And he jumped in the frozen lake to save the dog."
Leo, it seems, had no hesitation about diving into the freezing water to save his huskie, who was in danger of drowning.
"As soon as he pushed the one dog out of the pond, the other one jumped in," Jennifer added.
The trio was soon flailing in the chilly water.
"We all were in the frozen lake together," Leo recalled.
"Oh my God!" Meryl exclaimed, as she heard the story for the first time.
After the intense moment, the star and his companions managed to get out of the ice-filled water to safety.
Following the frosty mishap, DiCaprio rushed to his car to warm up, which Jennifer recounted with a cheeky jab.
"I'm sure you guys are all wondering, I was too, he immediately got naked in the car," she said.
It seems that Leo, and his pups, are doing just fine.
