Henry Cavill is officially back as Superman!
Los Angeles, California - It's confirmed! Henry Cavill will be back as Superman. In an Instagram video, the 39-year-old actor announced that he will once again play the role of the iconic superhero.
"I wanted to make it official that I'm back as Superman," Cavill said in the Instagram clip posted Monday, to the delight of 2.7 million Insta users.
The actor, who also plays the gritty hero Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix show The Witcher, added that his cameo as Superman in the movie Black Adam was just "a very small taste of what's to come."
The actor continued: "There's a lot to be thankful for, and I'll get to that in time, but I wanted to thank you guys most of all for your support and your patience. I promise it will be rewarded."
The actor didn't reveal details about the new project Superman project in his post.
Cavill first played the DC hero in the 2013 Man of Steel. He also played Superman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and in Justice League (2017). All three films were directed by Zack Snyder (56).
Even though the actor didn't spill any tea, the Hollywood Reporter shared last week that a new Superman movie "would essentially be Man of Steel 2" and that DC producer Charles Roven is already on board.
