Halsey claps back at critics on TikTok: "I am" sick
Los Angeles, California – Halsey is not having the conversations popping off in the comment section of their social media posts.
The Girl is a Gun singer is clapping back at fans and foes who have a lot to say about their appearance.
After opening up about their multiple health diagnoses, the singer has faced criticism about their figure. Now, Halsey is taking back their power.
In a TikTok to the tune of We Already Know by Walworth & Howell, the 27-year-old stared blankly ahead as common critiques about their body like "Halsey u look sick," "Is she OK? Put some meat on those bones," "She's too thin," and "looks unhealthy," scrolled across the screen.
Rather than giving fans a ranting response to such obscene and offensive takes, Halsey offered up a simple explanation in the caption: "'U look sick' BC I AM! LET ME LIVE!," they wrote.
Many came to their defense in the comment section to offer up words of solidarity and affirmation, with one TikTok user writing, "As a fellow chronically ill person, I feel this so, so much."
Another chimed in to thank Halsey for "being so honest and open about it all," adding, "you’re helping a lot of people by this and the chronic illness community is behind you."
In 2022, people's bodies shouldn't be up for debate, nor should they be a topic of conversation or criticism.
Here's to Halsey for standing their ground!
