First Lady Jill Biden graces cover of Vogue and takes over Texas to make a difference
Dallas/Houston, Texas – First Lady Dr. Jill Biden is making big new moves – gracing magazine covers and doing some important groundwork at the same time!
The first lady isn't letting her husband Joe Biden's presidential to-do list get in her way of making an impact.
On Tuesday, Dr. Jill Biden is jet-setting to Texas, with plans of stopping in both Dallas and Houston to make good on the Biden Administration's campaign promise to combat Covid-19 by having 70% of Americans vaccinated by July 4.
It is a goal the administration has already admitted it will not hit, but Dr. Biden hopes her appearances can help ramp up vaccination efforts in the state.
Dr. Biden's visits come at the same time her new Vogue cover interview was released.
On Tuesday, the magazine announced she would grace the cover of its upcoming August issue, where she told the publication, "When I became second lady – and there was so much I wanted to do – I always said, 'I will never waste this platform.'"
Dr. Biden will visit Dallas and a Houston sports game on Tuesday
According to The White House, Dr. Biden will visit a vaccination clinic located at Emmett J. Conrad High School in Dallas, Texas around 4 PM on Tuesday to tour the site and speak with clinic employees and those waiting to get vaccinated.
Those on-site will also witness a special appearance from former Dallas Cowboys player and NFL legend Emmitt Smith.
After her stop at the high school, Dr. Biden will be meeting up with Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff in Houston, where the two will attend an event put on by the Houston Astros.
According to the Houston Chronicle, vaccinations will be given away at the event in exchange for free tickets to an Astros game.
Following the appearance, both Dr. Biden and Emhoff will fly to Phoenix, Arizona to continue their Covid-19 vaccination tour later this week.
The first lady and second gentleman's stops in Texas come days after Vice President Kamala Harris' visit to El Paso, Texas on Friday to address numerous immigration issues.
This will be Dr. Biden's second visit to the state since the Biden-Harris administration took office.
