The 73-year-old is making his 2021 party virtual due to the Covid-19 pandemic. And he's inviting today's hottest selling recording artist to perform for a massive audience of worldwide party guests.

For $20, partygoers can purchase a ticket to attend the one-hour online show on April 25 which will take place directly before the live Oscars awards ceremony broadcast.

The event will be hosted by Elton and his partner David Furnish (58), alongside the party's MC and co-host Neil Patrick Harris (47).

British pop singer Dua Lipa (25) will appear as the musical guest.

Proceeds from the event - one of the most coveted Oscars celebrations in pre-pandemic times - will benefit Elton John's AIDS foundation, the musician announced on Monday.

He said the importance of young people's voices talking about HIV and AIDS is crucial to ending the disease and the stigma surrounding it for good.

Tickets to stream the event can be purchased through Ticketmaster.

Last year, Elton's Oscar party was held in New York on February 9, shortly before the start of the pandemic. A star-studded list of celebrities attended.

The in-person event normally hosts around 900 people, but this year's global audience could make it his biggest party yet.
