By early morning on Thursday, the Tesla founder sent a flurry of Tweets that got him trending worldwide on the platform and even convinced some people to dump their life savings into Dogecoin.

In between Tweets about progress and plans for SpaceX launches, he found time to mess with the crypto markets with quips like "Release the Doge!" and "Baby Doge, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo," – a reference to the Baby Shark song.

The value of Dogecoin responded instantly with a 7% spike in the last hour. But some users on Twitter believe that it will once again fall to the same lows other cryptocurrencies are experiencing and that inexperienced traders are going to lose out.

Musk has already been publicly warned by vigilante hacker group Anonymous about using his power as a public figure to sway crypto markets for his entertainment, as it often results in instability and devastating lossses for people who are just starting out with investing.

His response to the group, "Don’t kill what you hate, Save what you love," has been pinned to the top of his Twitter profile since. Could this latest batch of Tweets be his way of provoking the group?

Assuming he's at home in his tiny house in Boca Chica Village, Texas, the Tweets went out at about 4AM local time and are sure to be a delight for those who have invested in Dogecoin when they wake up, as well as frustrating for those who have been selling off crypto assets during this prolonged downturn in the market.
