Ed Sheeran links up with Pokémon GO for a special in-app music experience
San Francisco, California – Ed Sheeran is gearing up for a special performance in the Pokémon GO AR universe.

Starting Monday, November 22, fans of Sheeran and Pokémon Go gamers alike will be able to catch various performances by the music artist right from their in-app News feed.
The Grammy-winning singer announced his upcoming gaming crossover on Thursday morning via Instagram, and also featured his favorite Pokémon character – a sunglasses-wearing Squirtle – in the promotional photo.
"I'm going to be performing a couple of songs from "=" on @pokemongoapp," Sheeran captioned the post.
According to Pokémon GO Live's website, the 30-year-old will not only be performing hits from his new album, =, but also some fan-favorites throughout the years, such as Thinking Out Loud and Perfect.
The songwriter is set to perform Shivers, Bad Habits, Overpass Graffiti, and First Times from =, as well.
Pokémon GO players now also have the option to dress their characters and Pokémon partners in an = sweatshirt in honor of Sheeran's in-app performance.
The sunglasses-wearing Squirtle featured in the promotional photo announcing the crossover event will also be available to encounter when gamers complete field research tasks.
To further honor Sheeran's adoration for Water-type Pokémon like Squirtle, gamers can also expect an event featuring all the Water-type first-partner Pokémon currently available on Pokémon GO.
The event kicks off in the Pokémon GO in-app News feed at 2 PM EST on Monday, November 22, and will run until 4 PM on Tuesday, November 30.
