When the news broke that DMX, born Earl Simmons, passed away one week after being hospitalized, the world stood still – especially for his surviving fiancé.

The couple shared a 4-year-old son, Exodus, whose name was tattooed on DMX's neck.

Lindstrom took a note from the hip hop legend's playbook and opted for a large tattoo on her wrist that included his nickname, X.

She took it up a notch from his tribute to their son, adding the title of his 2006 hit single, Dog Love, to the piece.

The "X" is drawn in the same font DMX commonly used to stylize his name, making it even more sentimental and personal.

The tattoo artist responsible for Lindstrom's masterpiece was Krystal Kills of the Black Ink Crew.

Kills shared the final work on her Instagram page, singing praises of Lindstrom and sharing her condolences for the loss of the beloved DMX.

"I feel honored to be able to do this memorial but also saddened. Your light was unmatchable. @desi123love I pray you find your way through these dark times, and remember the love you had for each other will forever be untethered", Kills wrote in the caption.

"I'm glad I got to witness it. The world lost an icon but also a great father. Praying for your family. REST IN POWER DMX," the Black Ink Crew artist continued.

The late rapper was rushed to the hospital on April 4 after suffering a heart attack allegedly caused by an overdose. Unfortunately, brain activity never returned, and he passed away on April 9.
