Demi Lovato returns from rehab with a new 'do

Los Angeles, California - Three years after their near-fatal drug overdose, Demi Lovato checked themself in for another stint in rehab, returning with a fresh hairstyle to complement their new outlook.

For years, Lovato (29) consumed drugs and alcohol, suffering a serious overdose in 2018. Their health was so bad that the pop star even had to be resuscitated by a friend.

Things started to improve slowly, but the former Disney star did not stay truly clean. They regularly consumed alcohol and marijuana.

In early December, Lovato announced on Instagram that the "California sober" lifestyle was no longer working for them.

"Sober sober is the only way to be," they said at the time.

An insider revealed to Page Six that the Dancing with the Devil star checked themself into a rehab facility in Utah again. Lovato has since returned to Los Angeles, and their condition is reportedly stable.

About a week ago, Lovato posted a picture with shaved hair after their stay in the clinic, perhaps signaling a new beginning.

In May 2021, Lovato announced that they identify as non-binary. Coming out felt like a kind of liberation, they revealed in a podcast conversation with Alok Vaid-Menon at the time.
