Chris Evans named People's 2022 Sexiest Man Alive: "My mom will be so happy"
New York, New York - Chris Evans may no longer be playing the superhero Captain America, but now the 41-year-old star has a new title: Sexist Man Alive.
Evans takes over the title from fellow Marvel Universe actor Paul Rudd (53), who plays the superhero Ant-Man.
On the Late Show on Monday night, host Stephen Colbert (58) announced Evans' new designation and showed a cute clip featuring the actor along with previous Sexiest Man Alive winner Dwayne Johnson, who got the title in 2016.
In the sketch, Evans wears a sash that says Sexiest Man Alive while standing next to the Rock. The former wrestler said he'd never relinquish the title and that they'd just have to share it.
Then Johnson challenged Evans to say something sexy.
The Captain America star looked directly into the camera and said, "Go vote tomorrow!" He was referencing the 2022 midterm elections, with Election Day set for Tuesday, November 8.

People Magazine has awarded the Sexiest Man Alive title annually since 1985. The first winner was actor Mel Gibson (66).
Upon winning the 2022 award, Evans told People that one person is going to be particularly thrilled: "My mom will be so happy." Evans shared that his mother is proud of all his accomplishments, "but this is something she can really brag about."
The Captain America actor said his friends, on the other hand, are likely going to give him a hard time about the win.
Other title previous titleholders include musician John Legend (43), actor Idris Elba (50), country musician Blake Shelton (46), British soccer legend David Beckham (47), and actor Chris Hemsworth (39).
