Assisted Living is being described as a comedy flick in the vein of classics like Tootsie, Sister Act, and Mrs. Doubtfire, Variety reported.

Cardi B will be starring as Amber, a small-time crook who finds herself in over her head when a robbery doesn't go as planned.

On the run from both the police and her former crew, she struggles to find a place to hide.

In the end, she is left with no choice but to disguise herself as an elderly woman and finds refuge in the one place no one will expect her to be: her estranged grandmother's nursing home.

Sounds like just the right movie to lift our spirits amidst the pandemic.

Assisted Living is not her first acting job

However, Assisted Living isn't Cardi B's first acting job.

The 28-year-old star made her feature film debut alongside Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu, and Keke Palmer in Hustlers, the 2019 crime drama about strippers who turn the tables on their wealthy Wall Street clientele.

The singer has also secured a role alongside Vin Diesel in the ninth entry of the Fast & Furious franchise.

Cardi B is at the top of her game

Born Belcalis Almanzar, the Bronx native has been steadily on her way to multi-millionaire status.

She made her breakthrough in 2015, when she starred in the sixth season VH1's reality show Love & Hip Hop: New York. While she rose to fan-favorite status, she left the format a year later and devoted herself to her real passion: music.

It turned out to be a wise decision: her 2017 debut single, Bodak Yellow (Money Moves), went seven-times platinum and became the longest-running no. 1 single by a solo female rapper of all time.

Since then, Cardi B has smashed record after record, most recently with 2020 track W.A.P., in collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, which made a huge splash not just on the airwaves, but also in pop culture more generally.

Who would bet against her rising to the very top in Hollywood as well?
