Cardi B explains why she was scared to hire a nanny for her daughter
Los Angeles, California - Cardi B dished on her initial struggles as a mom and why she was "afraid" to hire a nanny for her daughter.
Motherhood isn't an easy feat.
This was something the Bodak Yellow rapper emphasized on during her interview with Vogue Singapore that was released on Monday.
The 29-year-old dished that she was "too nervous" to hire help when her first child, daughter, Kulture, was born.
The WAP artist explained that when Kulture was born back in July 2018 there weren't a lot of artists "who had babies at the beginning of their career."
"I didn't have an album out when I found out I was pregnant. Everybody was so nervous for my career and future, but I kept telling them, 'It's easy. Trust me, I'm going to have a nanny and she’s going to travel up and down with me. It's not even going to be a hassle.'"
Cardi further revealed that she initially planned to hire help her then-newborn, but she quickly realized that she didn't trust anyone after being launched into stardom.
Cardi B always puts her kids first
The Hot Sh*t artist said that after giving birth, she only wanted family around Kulture.
"When the baby got here, I couldn’t even think about getting a nanny because I was afraid of anybody being around her besides my family. I've never had a nanny for Kulture," Cardi continued.
The hip-hop star added that she instead heavily relied on her parents and also disclosed on the being mother has made her more "compassionate" for people - particularly fellow mothers.
"I feel like I understand people more, I have so much compassion, and love and appreciation, for all mothers in the world. There is no excuse, we have to do it. I have compassion for good mothers who get up and hustle and work, or even not work, having kids is work. Raising a kid is work."
